Graphic Design | Twin Boys Birthday

I recently had the pleasure of designing birthday party goodies for a friend from high school. Her adorable twin boys were turning five and she felt a little been there, done that with kid themes. Time to simplify now that the boys are getting a little older. Do you know the feeling? Here's what I came up with:

I'm happy with the result, focusing on the five and the boys themselves. In addition to the business-sized invitation, I designed cupcake toppers, drink wraps, t-shirt iron-ons and tags for jump rope favors. Good times! Happy Birthday Jack and Brady!

If  I've convinced you to go the simple route, this idea from Martha Stewart to do an initial themed birthday is pretty cool too. So many possibilities.

Graphic Design | Willy Wonka Birthday Party

I recently had the pleasure of designing Willy Wonka-inspired birthday printables for a sweet girl named Aidyn, the daughter of two of our closest friends.  Her creative mom Carla planned a party at their local candy shop and had some fun ideas. For the invitation, she wanted a chocolate bar wrapper and a golden ticket to hide inside. I also made them coordinating labels for candy box favors, thank you notes and a pennant. Here's a peek:

Carla printed the outer wrapper on brochure paper and the golden ticket on gold paper then wrapped them around an oversized Hershey bar. Looks like the real deal!

How about this wonky Wonka cake? A skilled baker, Carla used a Viriginia pound cake recipe flavored with vanilla and almond extracts. She used Wilton paste food coloring to create the colors, then swirled different cake batters together.

For favors, each guest received a personalized acrylic box to fill up at the candy store and the adorable candy wrapper headbands below.

For the front door of the candy shop, Carla created oversized "candies" with multi-colored plates from the dollar store wrapped in cellophane. She also made two candy and ribbon wreaths. Each wreath took six bags of fruit tootsie rolls!

Stamping Cookies

This inspired idea from Country Living is making the rounds on Pinterest. I love it for a bridal shower with impressions of the bride's new initials or wedding date. A baby shower with vintage storks or a birthday party with big, bold numbers...my mind's racing!
