In case you missed it yesterday, Becky Higgins shared a video of mine on her blog. The short clip is a peek at my girls checking out our Project Life album for the first time. I can't tell you how much fun it was to share it with them and see them get really into it. So rewarding–and hilarious. You can also watch it on Vimeo here.

• I love simple and clever commercials like this.
• Have you tried BB Cream? It's a "skin beautifier" that's basically tinted moisturizer/primer. Loving it.
• This printable 2013 calendar from Eat, Drink, Chic is sweet. Literally.
• If you're a fan of The Smiths like I am, you'll love these reinterpretations of their songs as book covers.
• I'm sorry to say I had to back out of speaking at Alt Summit this year. Have fun if you're going, hopefully I'll get the chance to go in the future. Be sure to pop over to the Alt Summit blog, they have really great content, including helpful graphic design tips like this.

How do you like the official Design Editor plaid? I have tartan on the brain because I just started reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It's the first in an adventure/time travel/romance series set in the Scottish Highlands and I'm hooked. Any fans out there? I'm actually part Scot, descended from Clan Boyd. Their motto is Confido, meaning "I Trust." Love that.

I made the plaid using a web app called Tartan Maker that I found over at Pugly Pixel. A fun design tool. You can create countless designs by playing with colors, band widths and orientation. You can download my tartan swatch here.

• Inspired by photographer Hanna Mac. Especially her everyday life shots.
• My friend Katherine recently launched Year 1 Portraits for custom sketches of your child. Check it out!
• Do you always have a hair band on your wrist? I'm a big fan of the ouchless ribbon bands.
• A unique movie poster for every letter of the alphabet.
• I just downloaded Cathy Zielske's "Taking The Crap Out of Scrapbooking" free printable. Another awesome motto.

I'm in post-vacation, back-to-reality mode, so this hand-lettered postcard set from Sparrow Nest Script is making me happy. (I'm also loving their "I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good" Moleskine journals.) Speaking of my vacation, if you're ever in Asheville, North Carolina, you have to check out an amazing tapas bar called Curate. I'm still thinking about their fried eggplant with honey and rosemary...
