I'm starting the transition of moving my home office up to one of our guest rooms. Curious little hands are interested in my computer, the printers, cords, pens, paper--you name it. This way my stuff will be safely tucked away behind a closed door and the girls get a playroom off of the kitchen.
Jim and I made a trip to IKEA last week to get a few pieces to add to the room. Like he said in the store, "I love you, but you have a lot of stuff." We went with the Vika mix and match drawers, legs and tabletops. I'm going to have 96 inches of desk space. Yes. We also got a Billy bookcase that I'm planning to add some flair to.
I'll be sure to post photos as it's coming together. In the meantime, I'll share some of the design ideas I've been saving. One thing I'm thinking of doing is hanging a pegboard over that big desk space. I'm a big "out of sight, out of mind" person, so I love the idea of being able to see all of my supplies and really utilizing the vertical space.

A few details that caught my eye: Little hanging buckets for odds and ends. Bicycle baskets for magazines or my vast "to save" piles. Acrylic shelves for paper storage.

Good ol' Martha is pro-pegboard. I definitely want mine painted.

The frame on the pegboard in this crafty office looks nice and finished.

This is a cute setup from bink & boo. I spy wrapped tin cans as pencil holders.
I also want to check out Creative Spaces, a special issue from Creating Keepsakes magazine. Love seeing how other people organize. Becky Higgins is offering a coupon code for free shipping too!
