This is so exciting! I'm finally able to share what I've been spending late nights working on this month...my projects for both the Scrapbook and Project Life Creative teams for Studio Calico using their January Block Party Kits.
Be sure to pop over to the official design team galleries to check out amazing work from the designers. There's Scrapbook, Project Life and Cards teams.
SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS| Cranking out traditional scrapbook layouts is a new chapter for me and I really loved it. These are all sized pretty big, so click to enlarge. My gallery with detail images is here.
Funny what a quick iPhone pic can turn into! I layered strips of patterned paper from this month's kit to frame the page and added the fabulous mirrored stars. Wish I had 100 more! Purchase the main Block Party Scrapbook Kit here.
This whole layout started with the New York button. Bingo. I was just there this fall and had Instagram photos that needed documenting. I built the design around the center seam of two 6x12 cuts of patterned paper. I created this with the main kit and the Add-On kit, Woodbrooke Road. Purchase it here.
This 6x12 layout came about when I was putting my daughters' shoes away. Thinking about how they've almost outgrown this size, I grabbed my camera. The goal here: Simple. The shoes say it all. I used patterned paper on both the bottom of the page (those are rounded corners down there) and to make the little flags. I attached the flags to the layout to the star of the show–that awesome glittered brad! I made this with the main kit and the Block Party Card Kit.
Are your kids as obsessed with your phone as mine are? Charlotte is the queen of self-portraits. I'm always finding photos in my camera roll that crack me up. I printed the photos with a white, Instax-style border and stamped dates for documentation. I'm crazy about the arrow stamps that I repeated down the side of the page to "stitch" the layers of paper together. I made this with the main kit, Woodbrooke Road Add-On Kit and the Wildberry Court Add-On Kit. You can purchase that here.
PROJECT LIFE LAYOUTS | The new Studio Calico Project Life Kits are amazing! I had a lot of fun with the January kit and have already seen the February designs...literally can't wait to get my hands on it and get cracking. I will be getting back to posting Project Life pages on the blog soon. I've had to stall a bit waiting for this reveal. My gallery with detail images is here. Purchase the Block Party Project Life Kit here.
This is my Week Forty-Eight of Project Life. It was extra exciting putting this spread together with all of these fun new kit items. All of the cards are from the kit, as well as the amazing wood grain labels, letter stickers and the cute arrow clip. I used the most adorable "yes please" stamp on the image with the purse and a digital brush with the days of the week on the title card.
I had a lot of fun playing with this kit for my title page for 2013. I mixed cards with embellishments like the yellow star stickers and the 2013 button with the digital brushes. (I created a template in Photoshop and printed right onto the cards.)
PROJECT LIFE CLASS | Don't forget to enroll in the new Studio Calico class Day By Day, a comprehensive class by members of their Project Life Creative Team.
Throughout the month of January, each of us will be taking you through building our Project Life pages from start to finish. We'll be sharing cover pages, tutorials, and videos that will help you fine tune your own approach to your album. I have a video on adding type to photos in Photoshop Elements.
All students will receive access to digital stamp brushes, cut files and printables. While supplies last, students will also receive an exclusive 4x6 clear stamp set. Below is just one of the awesome printable files. You can check out more here. You get all of the details and sign up here. You have until 12/31/12!
Think of it as getting to peek over our shoulders as we work on our albums!
