Here you go! My Week In The Life album for 2011. Insert a visual of me high fiving myself here. I feel like I just finished a course in scrapbooking and this is the final I'm turning in.
Another huge thank you to Ali Edwards for creating this project and offering such wonderful advice and encouragement. I found myself thinking about her general mantra about the album, that it can be anything you want it to be, several times throughout this process. Very freeing. She has a great post and video about putting together her 2011 album. Check it out here.
A few notes on the finished product:
- I trimmed baseball card protectors down to six slots for mini page dividers. I like how it looks, but didn't like how much time it took to trim everything. Not sure I'll use them in the future. If I do, I'll be sure to get the same brand as the 8.5x11 page protectors so they line up. These don't and it bugs me.
- Thought I'd do more journaling with the baseball card inserts, but wound up doing more lists, which I think will be fun to look back on. Our ages, books the girls love right now, etc.
- I was going to send the images out to be printed to save on ink, but time got away from me. I printed everything on my HP Photosmart printer and I'm happy with the results.
TITLE PAGE
I went with my text title page design to keep things simple and added Basic Grey paper for a design element.
I included a little dedication on the inside cover of the album and tucked it into a Treasure Keepers envelope by Karen Foster Design. (I may redo this since the pen I signed it with was a little rough. This doesn't really look my writing.)
